INTUITIVE CONSULTATIONS WHY DO I DO CONSULTATIONS or "READINGS" ? As a child I used to see ghosts. I soon shut this off due to fear. However years later, during my energetic therapy and meditation training some years ago I found out I was very clairvoyant (amongst other mediumistic abilities). Soon I began to work with some of Australia's best know mediums to continue the work they pioneered and pass on the skills and understanding they taught me. I do readings to enlighten and empower people and I enjoy the work. Read on to find out more. WHAT IS A CLAIRVOYANT ? ‘Clairvoyant’ is one of many names for a Medium. A Medium is a person who can sense the subtle energies of our Higher Selves and of ‘Spirit Beings’ and can interpret their ‘messages’. (Spirit Beings include souls who have returned to spiritual existence after death of their physical body and those who exist in the spiritual realms alone.) We human beings are all mediums. We all have the capacity to sense and interpret the subtle energies and messages from our Higher Selves and from ‘beings in Spirit’. Most of us are only aware of our psychic skills when we get those hunches, premonitions and ‘gut feelings’ about the past, present and future that are rarely wrong. Professional Mediums have developed their natural psychic abilities and intuitive skills so that they can usually ‘tune in’ to subtle energies and messages around them ‘at will’. Mediums might ‘pick up’ information through any of the following:
Even though they have been led to develop their psychic skills, professional Mediums are just regular people like you. Some have sensed the presence of Spirit Beings and have communicated with them from a very early age. Others grow into awareness over time. Professional Mediums have usually received guidance from their Spiritual guides that the time has come to strengthen their skills further by working professionally. That is, to trust that they can make a living using their psychic skills. It is an enormous leap of faith for the Medium and demonstrates the strength of their trust in Spirit. WHAT IS A READING ? The oracles, seers and mystics of ancient times were mediums. So are the shamans, ‘witchdoctors’ and ‘medicine people’ of Indigenous peoples. Mediums of previous generations used tools such as rolling bones, crystal balls, tarot cards or even tea leaves to obtain information for their clients. It is from this history of ‘reading the signs’ to obtain information for clients that consultations with a Medium are now known as ‘readings’. Today, many Mediums continue to use tools like tarot cards during readings for ‘Sitters’ (clients). A small number of Mediums give readings while in very deep meditation (trance). The most common approach is for a Medium to simply sit opposite you and ‘tune-in’ to information offered by your Higher Self or Spirit Beings. In this approach, the Medium often appears to be listening to someone just a little above your head or to the side of you. (This is the way I do my readings.) Readings are intended to enlighten and uplift the Sitter, no matter what is going on in their life. My readings are never ‘fortune telling’ sessions but are a way of accessing spiritual guidance that is currently not easy for you to obtain by yourself. During a reading a Medium remains in a state of ‘openness’ to the energies of the spiritual realms. This enables them to tune into information that comes from you and your Spirit Guides. It also enables them to sense the presence of other Spirit Beings, to perceive their messages and to interpret them for you. Having a reading with a Medium is like watching television. You simply watch, unaware of the energetic signals around you or of the components in the TV that are busily receiving and translating the signals from the broadcaster via satellite to your receiver. The Medium (your receiver) and Spirit Beings (the broadcasting stations) are very busy. The Spirit Beings who wish to convey messages to you, pass information to the Medium's Guides. The Medium's Guides prepare and transmit the ‘messages’ in forms they hope will communicate clearly to the Medium. Once received, these ‘messages’ are translated through the Medium's mind into the information you receive in your reading. You can see that the exchange of information during a reading is at least a three-way process (your Guides or loved one to the Medium's Guides to the Medium) before it gets to your ears. Its no wonder then that sometimes misinterpretations occur, images are not clear and that information doesn’t seem to ‘make sense’ at the time. The good thing to realise, however, is that despite what your conscious mind may hear and understand, your Higher Self and Spirit Guides will have passed on important messages to your unconscious mind. This information is absorbed into your inner being and will bring you healing and understanding. It is not uncommon for information that made no sense at the time of a reading to emerge in the next couple of days as gems - deeply relevant, significant and meaningful messages. WHAT INFORMATION COMES DURING READINGS ? It is a Universal Law that Sitters only receive the information or contact with Spiritual Beings that is right for them at a particular point in time. The amount of information, the type of information and the beings in Spirit who make contact are regulated by your Guides and Teachers in Spirit - not the Medium. Most people come for a reading because they are seeking communication with loved ones who have passed over (died) or they are seeking guidance about concerns troubling them or others they love. COMMUNICATION WITH LOVED-ONES. Asking for communication with loved-ones can be both rewarding and saddening. Rewarding because we realise that they are safe and well. Saddening because we are often confronted with the realisation that we must learn to exist without the loving contact that can be craved so much on both sides due to physical death on the earth plane. Communication with deceased loved ones usually comes in two stages. First, survival evidence and then messages of love, support and often guidance and suggestions. Survival evidence is information to assure the Sitter that their loved one continues to exist beyond the death of their physical body. This information is often about events, people, names, words, songs, stories or incidents that are of special significance in some way and often known only to the loved ones themselves. For example, the name of a beloved pet or recalling the details of an incident of significance like an engagement. The evidence could also be something insignificant like identifying a habit of the deceased that caused annoyance or even laughter. For most people, messages of love and support follow after a few examples of survival evidence. It is through these messages that your loved ones bring you the healing that prompted your visit for a reading. The messages are usually gentle assurances of love and encouragement for the one still living. The messages may also include guidance about diet, health treatments or other issues. I have been able to help people get wonderful survival evidence - but I can guarantee nothing. The accuracy of survival evidence relies heavily on the experience of beings in spirit. It takes time for souls newly returned to the spiritual realms to regain the strength and flexibility to communicate clearly via Mediums (like me they find it hard work!). For this reason, seeking contact too early may be a frustrating experience for loved ones on both sides of death. This does not mean that you can not come for a reading if your loved one has only recently passed over. Your guides or other loved ones who have been in spirit longer can pass on information about your recently deceased loved one. Also, you could be like many other sitters who I have helped to receive extremely valuable information from someone they weren’t even considering trying to get in touch with. ASKING FOR GUIDANCE FROM SPIRIT. Asking for guidance from Spirit is a serious matter. Your guides in Spirit will not necessarily constrain themselves to giving the answers to your questions that you want to hear. It is therefore unwise to ask for guidance if you are not open to receiving a spiritual perspective to your concerns. Most people are concerned about things in their day to day lives - relationships, finances, work and family. I need to point out that my readings are not fortune telling sessions. Will I get pregnant? Will I get married? Is he Mr Right? Is she the girl of my dreams? Will I be a grandmother? Will I win the court case? Will my child be rich? etc, etc. Clear answers to such questions may or may not be received, and sometimes they are less than clear. The main focus of my readings is obtaining information to promote an individual’s spiritual healing or development. This is why I put my energies into doing readings. This is why guides and teachers in spirit put their energy into the difficult task of communicating across the veil. In the end, the guidance you receive from your Higher Self and Spirit Teachers in a reading can be about any part of your life. You may receive guidance about practical concerns. You might have to sit through a lot of material that initially appears irrelevant. You might become annoyed that the guidance keeps avoiding an issue or returns over and over to an issue that is not on your current agenda. Let me assure you, I do not make up my readings. I simply pass on the information I am given. Remember that the purpose of the reading and the information you receive is to promote your spiritual development. I have learned that the best help I can give clients is simply to pass on exactly what I receive. In the long run, it is often information or suggestions that were initially rejected or considered irrelevant by clients that turn out to be the most needed and transforming. I always allow time for a client to ask some specific questions or concerns that are on their minds (sometimes at the beginning or sometimes at the end of a reading). Readings are usually recorded for later listening, however, if you prefer that the session not be recorded, I will respect your wishes. HOW TO MAKE THE READING A GOOD ONE. Come with an open mind. Some people are not only sceptical about readings and mediums they want to test its authenticity by making things as difficult as possible during the process. This is like going to a doctor and only telling them you don’t feel well as a test of whether they can diagnose and cure you of food poisoning. If you are unable to approach a reading with at least an attitude of open-mindedness, don’t come. I can assure you, nothing I can do will convince a client that a reading will work for them if they deliberately block, deceive or deny the accuracy of all guidance received. I can also assure you that a wall of negative energy, an aggressive scowl or an “If you’re as good as they say you are - prove it” attitude sets up a barrier that neither I nor Spirit can penetrate. If you don’t want me to give you information, I can’t - it’s as simple as that. Put your positive energy into making the reading work well. Even if you are unsure about a reading, go with the flow. Give it a chance. Add your positive energy and thoughts to assist the process. You could think to yourself, “I’m not sure about this but I offer positive energy to the process. I am open to hearing answers to my questions”. Respond helpfully. When asked questions or given information, think carefully and respond as best you can, particularly if it is about information received from Spirit. Feedback about accuracy of information is tremendous encouragement for your loved ones in Spirit who are trying so hard to communicate effectively with you. It also assists your Medium and enables him/her to keep channels open. Have some questions ready. Prior to coming, decide on some specific questions you’d like to ask, or specific areas you would like to look at in the reading. Some people bring photos of people they’d like to ask about (both alive and passed over). Reflect on the reading a few days later. Readings should never leave you with the impression that future events are ‘set in stone’. Regardless of the information you receive in a reading you can change your life in an instant. Listen to the tape again a few days or weeks after the reading. Listen with ears and heart. With grace and guidance your reading will reveal additional information that enables you to see things from a higher viewpoint of understanding, love and acceptance. Hopefully this will help you to take and maintain charge of your life, as it is your destiny and responsibility to do so --------------------------------------------------------------- In a reading I am demonstrating a very small part of the tremendous whole. Just as Earth cannot survive without life giving water, psychic gifts cannot survive without spirituality. I am not here as a fortune teller and refuse to be linked to such. I rely entirely on spiritual communication as directed by the love of The Infinite Light to help enlighten and uplift you.
